Mounjaro starts at 2.5 mg once weekly for 4 weeks, then increases to 5 mg. If appropriate, doses rise in 2.5 mg steps every ≥4 weeks to 7.5, 10, 12.5 or 15 mg.  Common side effects typically ease as doses rise gradually. Not suitable in pregnancy and with certain medical conditions—your clinician will advise.

What is Mounjaro?
Mounjaro (Tirzepatide) is a once-weekly injectable medication, FDA-approved under the brand name Mounjaro to treat type 2 diabetes as well as under the brand name Zepbound for weight loss. Both medications are administered via a once-weekly injection using a pre-filled single-dose pen.
How does tirzepatide work?
Tirzepatide works similarly to other GLP-1 medications, however, tirzepatide differs from the other medications in that it is a dual-action GLP-1 (short for glucagon-like peptide 1) and GIP (short for glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide) medication. This means that it works by mimicking the action of both the GLP-1 and GIP hormones, which help regulate your metabolism. In doing so, tirzepatide makes you feel fuller faster and for longer. It also communicates with the part of your brain in charge of hunger and satiety, helping you regulate how much you eat. When combined with an appropriate diet and exercise, this makes tirzepatide an effective treatment for weight loss.
Will I get a refund if I don't lose at least 20 pounds of weight?
Tirzepatide comes in doses of 2.5 mg, 5 mg, 7.5 mg, 10 mg, 12.5 mg, and 15 mg. Similar to other GLP-1 medications, tirzepatide dosing gradually increases. If prescribed, you’ll start on the lowest dose (2.5 mg) for the first four weeks, and then work with your provider to slowly increase your dose every four weeks until you reach a steady dose that works best for you.
How do you take tirzepatide?
Tirzepatide is a once-weekly injection that comes in a pre-filled, single-dose pen. If prescribed, you’ll receive detailed instructions from your Weightless support team on how to inject it in your stomach, arm, or thigh.
